In order to dismiss your traffic ticket and have no points assessed against your official Arizona Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) driver record, the State of Arizona Supreme Court requires all defensive driving schools to collect your Court diversion fee, the Arizona State fee, and the Arizona State surcharge fee prior to starting the online course.
These fees are collected in lieu of a civil penalty or criminal fine for your traffic violation, and will be forwarded to the correct state agency on your behalf. The total cost to attend a defensive driving school in Arizona to dismiss a designated minor traffic citation consists of four (4) separate fees: your Court diversion fee, the Arizona State fee, the Arizona State surcharge fee, and our school fee.
